Propel CO:LABS Fitness Festival 2018
While #thewallhive waits patiently for The Wall flagship studio to open, (just a few more weeks!) we've been all over town at different fitness events. This past weekend we attended Propel Co:Labs Fitness Festival and had an absolute blast.
Propel throws this amazing festival all over the country to bring like minded people- who love getting their sweat on- together by trying different classes and recharging trough several wellness activities, all while staying super hydrated with endless amounts of Propel. They had two days in LA and classes taught by some of the biggest names in fitness and performances by Icona Pop and Ludacris. AND in addition to having so many bomb experiences available the whole thing was SO CUTE. Photo ops every where you turned.
I obviously took full advantage. I didn't take many pictures during class because I was just in it. I got into teaching because I loved taking class. I love feeling the energy from a group of people moving together. I'm not very competitive, but I'm definitely fueled by group energy. It pushes me to see the people around me trying- and choosing to continue to try. I like getting lost in the music and feeling what happens when I get out of my head and let my body take over. I could wax poetic all day about why I love group fitness, but for the purpose of this post, I'll try to stick to what we did here lol.
The Wall had classes Saturday and Sunday and I was so glad I could be there for both of them! Our class on Saturday was with Fit Shop- a Miami based studio specializing in functional HIIT, strength training, and boxing. This is where the "CO:LABS" in the festival name comes in. Different studios are paired together to co-teach and combine what their studios do, creating a brand new community of people between both studios. This class we had alongside Fit Shop was probably my favorite moment of the weekend. Taught by my boss, Jason Wimberly and Fit Shop's owner, Kaisa Kerwin, I was sweeaaaating my ass off like 10 mins in (which I loved). The exuberance both trainers brought to class had me so pumped and they kept us laughing along the way. In this class, I got a very serious workout, but didn't have to take myself super seriously to do it. I was having so much fun the whole time. We really worked a little bit of everything too. The Wall's signature core activation and resistance band work and Fit Shop's strength and conditioning kept me right and tight the rest of the day.
The Wall kicked off Sunday morning as one of the first classes of the day and it felt like a party. There are few things I love more than when our crew is able to be all together- teaching, taking class, or just drinking margs- which is probably what we're doing if we're not teaching or taking class- JK (kind of) whatever it is- we're having a good time. Especially while we anticipate the grand opening of our new studio, spaces like these are really crucial to connecting with each other and our community. We saw some of our favorite #thewallhive faces and met a lot of new ones during class as well. I was thrilled to just be there.
There was so much fun to be had at this festival and I spent the rest of the day exploring and drinking all the Propel water. My favorite flavor was def the watermelon- which was no surprise to me because watermelon is always my fave flavor of anything. If you're in Miami, New York, Chicago or any place near them- I highly recommend checking Propel CO:LABS out.
ALSO we wore alllll Carbon38 all weekend. And it is everything. Seriously, you can get all of the best active wear brands and their own C38 line is always bomb. If you're looking for new active wear, make this your one stop shop and use my code TAYLORMIKISKA to get 20% off your first purchase of $100+ <3 I can't say thank you enough to Carbon 38 for the gear that kept us looking tip top all weekend - especially the Takara Leggings- which kept my booty looking tip top all weekend *prayer hands emoji*
Stay tuned for more fitness related musings. As always, all my love and gratitude for anyone who read this far. I hope whatever you're getting into this week, you're crushing it the way I crushed Propel water all weekend lol.
xx
